Cindy Thai—Dishonest Australian Oil Futures Trader
Here is the scoop on Cindy Thai, an Australian oil futures trader living in Sydney of Vietnamese descent. I will be as honest as possible here, without being mean, this is for your protection, whoever is reading this.
I briefly dated Cindy in the United States, she told me her self-employed work was trading oil futures. As i saw her make money, I decided to risk some money in her hands. Promptly, for unknown reasons, the value of my account plummeted down from $40,000 to $17,000. Of course this was a risk I took, and Cindy felt bad, and as she left to move home to Australia, gave me 10k of the losses back, as she felt responsible for it, and had violated our agreement that there would be a max loss of 2k per day, as she had in fact lost in excess of ten k in one day.
The fact that she took responsibility for 40% of the losses when she didn't have to gave her a lot of credit with me.
Now, she moved back to Australia, and took some time off trading, asking me to keep the remaining money in my account while she cleared her head. Awhile later she asked me if she could trade my money again, so she could earn back the ten thousand. I, who was down 13k either way was going to just say, fuck it, I’m done, cause I wasn’t comfortable with her trading my money any more, and I told her I didn’t feel comfortable.
She then PROMISED me, numerous times, that she would be responsible for anything below 17,000, that she would set a max loss of 2k per day, and she would do her best, and once we reached the original amount we could begin splitting the profits as we had previously agreed.
I even told her, Cindy, “You do realize that this isn’t a fair deal for you. This is no risk for me, and you are taking all the risk.”
‘Rich, I want to prove myself to you. I can do it. I want to earn my ten K back.”
“So, to be CLEAR, you are refunding me anything below 17k?”
“Yes, I promise, I promise!”
What choice did I have, she had given me 10k that that she didn’t necessarily have to originally, I owed her the opportunity, especially when she was willing to refund all losses below 17k.
“Okay Cindy Thai,” go ahead.
And go ahead she did. She won like 12/14 days or something. When she built the funds back up to 24k on the way. At that point she DEMANDED that I send her back the 10k . The deal was, she would get the ten k when we broke even (40k) … against my better judgment, I wanted to show her good will as well, I wired her the ten k.
She continued winning, and brought the account up to 37k. Every single day, win or lose, I had spent at least thirty minutes on the phone visioning for her, a form of prayer work. Not just financially, but her to be truly at peace as she is very superstitious, and believes in curses, believes she is responsible for sister’s suicide, and saw a lot of crap growing up that most people don’t.
She then lost 4.5k in a day, severely violating our agreement that we had of 2k per day max loss and we are out. We spoke that evening, and I told her this can’t happen again. She agreed. She then made all the money back the next time she traded, bringing the balance back up to 37. Great. Again, I spoke with her, prayed for her, talked to her as friend as I had done every day.
Then Egypt’s democracy movement takes place. This day she is on the wrong side of the trade. She calls me and tells me that she didn’t trade that day, and asks me trust her and not to look at any statements that come in over the next month. begs me not to look at any upcoming statements.
Of course, a statement arrives few hours later. Any day she doesn't trade, there is no statement. She had lied, she had traded and lost. Lost it almost all. Cindy Thai lost in excess of $31,500 dollars in a day in an account that had 37k in it. She obviously had greedily taken risk with someone else’s money so she might have a huge windfall. She had 16 options when they auto traded her out, WAYYYYY too much risk. And at 2k per day max loss.
Of course, as she lied to me, I called her upon this discovery. And she was MAD AT ME for looking at the statement when she told me she didn’t trade.
She said she would take some time off, and make it up to me. She said at minimum she would send me my tenK back. No Cindy, that wasn’t the deal.
“Rich, give me time. I messed up I know. I did really bad. Let me make it up to you.”
“Okay Cindy, I have faith in you,” you have given me reason.
I spoke to her often, trying not to bring this up, when I did she told me "later later. After the month is over."
By the time April came around, I confronted her on the situation. She first tells me that it “was my fault, that my thoughts had gotten in her way.”
Huh? How is it my fault? I prayed and visioned for you every day nothing but positive things, I am about as far away distance wise as I can be and still be on the same planet. She refused to take any of the blame.
“So let me get this straight, I am the one who took a 16 option postion the wrong way and blew up the account?”
“Your thoughts and fear were in my way.”
“And I suppose that they were in your way when you were making money almost every single day?”
No answer, she has to go she says.
I speak with her again, and I have most of these message exchanges recorded in my skype. She says it is my fault, but if I deposit another ten k, then she’ll make the money up by trading, that her “head is now clear.”
No, you deposit the 21k you owe me. (10k I stupidly gave her back prematurely and the 11k below 17k we were.) That was the deal.
“I didn’t want to trade your money to begin with,” Cindy Thai responds.
“No actually you begged me to give you the opportunity to trade my funds. You wanted to make the ten k. Then you go and blow up my account and blame me.”
“You’re not getting your money back, so don’t ask me,” she states, and then paradoxically continues, “TRUST ME just one more time, I can make you your money back. My mind is clear, just deposit another 10k.”
“You want me to trust you? If you want me trust you deposit the 21k you lost, and I’ll let you trade it.”
“No, it was your fault, Your thoughts, fears, and mind got in my way. I have to go.”
This has been the same conversation the last five times I have spoken to her. After 4 months after the initial losses, I finally gave up, withdrew the remaining 6k, and feel forced to write this.
So, if you are researching on the internet, a short, Vietnamese, woman named Cindy Thai who lives in Sydney as of 2011, my recommendation is that you steer clear of her. She is unable to accept personality responsibility for her actions, as demonstrated above, and she clearly does not follow through on a deal that she begged to make.
Honestly, she is a little crazy How else do you blow up an account and blame someone else. This is not even to go into all the guilt, fear, and anger that are in her.
I know that she made a deal with some Australian girlfriend of hers where she is "guaranteeing" her a 20% return on her money. She'll pay if she makes money on your money, but if she blows up that account too, don't expect this victim minded woman to give you your money back.
Everything in here is a fact. Cindy Thai made a deal that she failed to keep. She blames others for her errors. She is crazy and superstitious. I feel bad for her, but that's life. If she wants to gamble away my money, violating every deal that we had, and then refuses to pay up, after 4 months of kind attempts, and trying to understand her, then I feel implored to write this to warn others.
STAY CLEAR OF CINDY THAI
These are incontrovertible facts. It pains me to write this honestly. I don’t wish her ill. However, if I can save someone time and money and the aggravation of dealing with someone who is not of sound mind, i feel it is my duty to inform you of these facts.
Maybe she will keep her word in the end.
